What you'll need

Your finished website ZIP, your own Netlify account, and a domain purchased from a registrar like GoDaddy. Domain, hosting and other third-party fees are paid by you.

01

Save and unzip your website files

Download the ZIP delivered by Danielle Website Designs. On Mac, double-click to unzip. On Windows, right-click and choose Extract All. Find the folder containing index.html and the site's other pages and assets. Keep those files together.

02

Open your Netlify account

Visit app.netlify.com and sign in. Open the Projects dashboard and select Add new project or Deploy manually, or go to Netlify Drop.

03

Drag in the extracted website folder

Drag the folder containing your website's index.html file into Netlify's deployment area. Don't upload only the HTML page or the folder with the guide. When the deployment finishes, open the temporary .netlify.app link and look through your pages.

04

Add your own domain in Netlify

In your Netlify project, open Domain management and choose Add a domain you already own. Enter your domain and follow Netlify's verification instructions. Netlify shows the DNS settings needed for your configuration.

05

Connect your domain at GoDaddy

Sign in to GoDaddy, open your domain's DNS settings, and enter the records or nameserver changes Netlify instructs you to use. Do not copy made-up DNS numbers from a general guide. DNS changes can take time to become active. If your domain already handles email, check for existing MX/TXT records before replacing nameservers.

06

Check secure HTTPS

In Netlify, verify that HTTPS is working for your domain and any www version you've configured. Wait for DNS changes and certificate provisioning to complete before expecting every link to work from your custom address.

07

Test the whole live website

Open the site on phone and computer; test menus, buttons, page links, images, email links, and forms. Forms, email signup tools, shopping carts and external services may require separate accounts, settings or activation. A design ZIP by itself does not guarantee these services work.

08

Keep your website files safe

Save the original ZIP and this guide. If you make changes later, upload the updated site folder in the Netlify site's Deploys section. Keep control of your domain renewals and third-party accounts.

Important: This is general guidance for typical static Netlify websites. The steps can change as providers update their dashboards. Self-Publish does not include direct publishing, DNS changes, provider setup, troubleshooting, or live integration support from Danielle Website Designs unless separately quoted.
